Julie L. Jones

December 2014, Julie L. Jones is appointed Secretary by Governor Rick Scott. Jones is the first woman to be appointed Secretary in Florida corrections history and the fourth corrections Secretary appointed by Governor Scott. From 2009-2014, she served as the Executive Director at the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV). From 2002 to 2009, she served as Colonel at Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Secretary Jones received both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Florida Atlantic University. Jones states her first priority will be to analyze prison workers’ job tasks and staffing levels.
